SOUND STORY TELLING
I’m a music composer with work spanning 10+ years involving international music labels, trailers, games, TV and film scores.
Boris Nonte is a German composer whose compositions transcend a large variety of musical narratives and emotions. Taking the context of music as a metamorphosis of the world in which it exists, his work utilises a wide range of modern sound design and traditional composition techniques, defying stereotypes. Boris focuses on classic themes and contextually inspired motifs, wrapped in electrifyingly epic soundscapes.
Albeit having strong influences from epic classic as well as slick electronic-industrial music, Boris is not rooted in any typical genre. Having learned Piano in the early age of 11, Boris grew up in a cozy town in Germany before moving to indie loving Berlin. “Almost every idea takes place on my piano, although what eventually remains is an orchestration without any piano at all, but contextually placed instruments that absorb the emotional resonation of the story, bringing it to life.”
Boris’ compositions lean heavily towards tense ambience and dramatic amplification with pulse-driven, epically layered melodies. Enthralled by Trent Reznor’s (Nine Inch Nails) fusion of industrial sounds and hard-shaped rock Boris often combines orchestral with industrial electronic vibes. Composing tracks for games (Activision, Ubisoft) and networks such as Disney, Nickelodeon and MTV during his early career he also faced some hardships after moving to Berlin. Boris pursued more overseas work, meeting LA based composer Gregg Lehrman (former assistant of Hans Zimmer & CEO/founder of Output) with whom he now collaborates for over 10 years.

Boris received placements in various streaming and TV series (‘Las chicas del cable’ a.k.a. ‘Cable Girls’, ’Shadowhunters’), movie trailers (Avengers, Prometheus, Avatar, Mission Impossible, Thor, The Jungle Book, Harry Potter, Dancing With The Stars, Jimmy Kimmel Show) and documentary scores for networks such as the BBC, Discovery, ABC, Disney and MTV. In addition to numerous works for large-scale events such as the famous ‘League of Legends’ Championships, he wrote numerous cues for commercials, music videos and music compilations.

Managing instrumentation and post-production by himself, Boris also recently composed series of successful tracks with LA based singer Keeley Bumford in collaboration with Gregg Lehrman. Acquainted with epic action music as with light eclectic themes, he is comfortable involving a 100 piece orchestra distorted with layers of synths as well as doing mono-instrumental sets of simply played chords.
